Apprenticeship
Each new apprentice that joins the local is indentured to the union following initiation. This ensures that each hour an apprentice earns to his credit is accurately recorded for apprenticeship training purposes. Apprentices are advised to send in their Log Books in June and December of each year for update. Any training courses taken during that time period will also be credited to the Log Book at the time of updating. Our annual training requirements are forwarded to the Dept. of Education each January for the upcoming training season - so please send in your Log Books regularly to avoid missing our on your apprenticeship.
To Take Training
Very soon we will begin training at our new facility in Stellarton. There are three instructors within the local who have attended various Train-the-Trainer sessions at our International Training Centre in Las Vegas and have the capability to deliver the International's course curriculum to the membership (these are noted by the **). Members who are interested in taking courses other than those listed are asked to please consult with the Training Coordinator before registering.
